Matariki, the Māori New Year, is upon us and celebrations marking this important cultural event are about to begin all over Aotearoa. Matariki is one of the most significant celebrations in the Māori calendar, beginning at the first New Moon after the Matariki star cluster has risen over the dawn horizon.
